The Conservative Baptist Association of Southern California started
in 1954 as an association of churches and ministries coming together
to defend and promote the gospel of Jesus Christ. We continue to
establish, encourage and strengthen churches throughout Southern

Slow Down
I
love doing stuff and it's hard for me to say no
sometimes. What a busy few weeks have just passed. My
activities have included: speaking for San Antonio
Heights Community Church's Men's Retreat; Sunrise Church
Rialto's evening service; a few words at the
International Baptist in Honolulu; CBAP Bienniel
Conference in Manila, Philippines; Bayview Baptist in
Guam; Calvary Baptist in Santa Barbara; and our
Transforming Churches Conference in Riverside. I did a
church assessment with Bill Hoyt up in San Francisco, am
preparing for a revisioning session with our CBSC board
and a revisioning meeting with CBAmerica in Chicago, and
am trying to finish my dissertation for my doctorate.
Financial burdens, camp issues and church concerns. My
lovely wife, meanwhile, has had two root canals lately
and now has to have oral surgery this week. My kids are
moving and would like some help, my daughter changed
jobs and needs counsel, Pastors call for jobs and
advice, and the newsletter and a training seminar speed
toward due dates. A late night visit to the hospital and
subsequent doctors' visits say that I may have...
