women's ministries

what can women's ministries do for you?

1. Women's Ministries is the branch of the Conservative Baptist Association of Southern California that works with women as a resource to encourage, motivate, educate and evangelize women of all ages and stages to draw closer to God with the leadership of each individual church.

2. Throughout the year there are times that these group opportunities are available.

A.   Leadership Conference in the spring.

This conference is open to all the churches and offers workshops for equipping and encouragement dealing with women's issues in the church.

B. Missions Summit is a time when missions at home and abroad are featured through workshops presented by churches that are strong in the area of home and foreign missions, bringing samples and doable, practical ideas to the ladies. Special speakers also bring up-to-date news from their area of evangelism. The goal is to motivate the ladies to try new ideas and network with churches in their area that are active in outreach.

3. Ladies Fall Retreats

A.     Ladies Fall Retreat, Spanish Speaking. Each year the Hispanic team plans their retreat featuring a Spanish speaker, workshops, crafts and special features such as a fashion show from all the Latin countries. There are about 350 ladies in attendance.

B.     Ladies Fall Retreat, English Speaking, 2 weekends. These identical retreat weekends are planned to encourage church fellowship, corporate worship and encouragement from God's Word either through the special speakers, workshops or individual church meetings. There is always a project offering which usually exceeds $12,000 each year. What a wonderful opportunity to be close to God away from the demands of everyday life below the mountain. We are thankful for the visible evidence of God working in the lives of the ladies as we return each year to Pine Summit Conference Grounds at Big Bear Lake, California.

This ministry is designed to minister to pastor's wives and wives of ministry staff through one or two day getaways or a one-day "Spa for The Spirit". Some churches see this as an opportunity for their women's ministry staff to get away and draw closer as friends and be spiritually refreshed. This is a one time yearly event planned at the beginning of the year.

5. A Day of Prayer at The Garden This is a day when ladies of the church can be a "Mary in this Martha" world. The day is planned focusing on the many aspects of prayer and a quiet spirit. Special features may include: worship, Bible reading, a prayer devotional, 2-hour lunch spent quietly with the Lord, prayer requests and corporate prayer. This is done at the individual church locations.

6. Resources of Encouragement  The resources that are available:

A. One-on-one contact to discuss aspects of ministry unique to the individual churches either on the phone, at the CBSC office or with the ladies at their choice of location close to their neighborhood or at their church.

B. Workshops are given
on any pertinent topic that the individual ladies of the church feel is need for encouragement.

C. Available to speak at special occasions during the year when asked.
